Jose Barron

Case Manager

Jose Barron is a dedicated scholar whose journey of transformation began in prison and has shaped his passion for education and social work. After serving fifteen years of incarceration, he discovered his purpose through academic growth, earning his Associate of Arts degree from Cerro Coso Community College while in prison in 2022. Through introspection and self-improvement, Jose cultivated resilience and a commitment to giving back.

Now an undergraduate at Fresno State University, he is expected to graduate in spring 2026. With his goal set on a graduate program, he aspires to earn a master's degree in social work, aiming to better his community. In addition to his studies, Jose actively volunteers at the Kings County Juvenile Detention Center, through the Prison Education Program (PEP), where he facilitates classes for young, incarcerated individuals, teaching them life and career skills.

At ReEvolution, Jose supports formerly incarcerated individuals to navigate the challenges of reentry. His story is a testament to the transformative power of education and service to people who are going through the same struggles he went through.
