Claudell Martin
Facilitator & Collaborator
Claudell met ReEvolution six years ago upon his release from prison after serving 42 years of an original life without parole sentence. At that time, Claudell lived at the Beacon House, a transitional house primarily for those who were sentenced to a life term and ReEvolution was holding monthly healing circles at that location. Six years later, ReEvolution is still holding its monthly circles and Claudell is now an Advocate at the Beacon House, where he beautifully supports those coming home from prison as he collaborates with ReEvolution and other groups to provide the best to the folks at the house.
Since his release, Claudell has completed classes in Substance Use Disorder Training and shared his facilitation skills through his work with ReEvolution at the California Institute for Women and the California Rehabilitation Center, despite also having a full-time job. Claudell continues to pursue his dedication to this work as his joy is witnessing other people’s growth, change and safe transition home. As Claudell says, “this work is a part of me.” When asked his secret to success, Claudell shared that “he loves people where they are.”
